Fool’s errand: Wonder
2025
A 20-year survey of selected works in the pursuit of wonder.
Wonder: a feeling of astonishment, or surprise or doubt; rapt attention, a sense of awe. In wonder there is a disruption of the rational, the practical, the pragmatic. Wonder awakens; it renews. Wonder isn't just curiosity; “it's spontaneous awe at the sacredness of life, of being," a deep appreciation for existence itself.
“When the wonder has gone out of a person, that person is dead. When all comes to all, the most precious element in life is wonder.” – D.H. Lawrence
